Daniel Temme

Daniel graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Australian National University in 2019, completing an honours thesis on non-refoulement and the refusal of visas on character grounds. During his studies, Daniel worked in the Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman assisting with preparing independent assessments of people in long-term immigration detention. Daniel also volunteered overseas with a Cambodian legal organisation based in Phnom Penh and attended the 2018 Georgetown National Security Law Invitational at Georgetown University, Washington DC.
After graduating, Daniel worked as an associate in the Migration and Refugee (MRD) and General and Other Divisions (GD) of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) and, later, as a legal officer. Daniel provided legal and administrative support, including legal research relevant to applications in the MRD and GD. As a legal officer, Daniel provided legal advice to members and staff of the AAT on administrative and migration law issues. Daniel was admitted to practice in August 2021 and joined CAIL in October 2022. |
