Lawyer

Picture
Hannah holds a Juris Doctor degree, a Bachelor of Arts degree, and a Diploma of Music, each from the University of Melbourne. While studying, she worked as a research and policy officer at Jesuit Social Services and as a research assistant in criminal law at the Office of Public Prosecutions Victoria. She also undertook a legal placement with community legal centre JobWatch and worked and volunteered as a tutor for university and high school students.

After graduating from her law degree, Hannah pursued her passion for administrative law and migration law as an associate in the General Division of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. In this role, she gained in-depth experience in the merits review process for visa cancellation and refusal cases on character grounds and citizenship refusal cases, as well as a wide range of other government decisions. Hannah was admitted to legal practice in March 2021.

Hannah joined CAIL as a lawyer in July 2021. She works on a variety of matters, including family migration, protection visas, citizenship, ministerial interventions and COVID-19 border restriction exemption requests. She is involved in matters from the primary application stage to the merits review stage in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. She also assists with a range of complex litigation matters in the courts.
