Bethany completed a Bachelor of Arts (Politics and History) at La Trobe University in 2010 including a semester abroad programme in Mexico. In 2013, she completed a Juris Doctor at the University of Melbourne. While at university, Bethany undertook an internship at Victoria Legal Aid and volunteered at the South Port Community Legal Centre.
Prior to joining Clothier Anderson Immigration Lawyers Bethany was an Associate to Justice Garde of the Supreme Court of Victoria who also served as the President of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
In 2015, Bethany joined Clothier Anderson Immigration Lawyers and undertook her traineeship year with us. Following admission to legal practice, Bethany worked on a variety of matters, including family and protection visa applications, and complex character matters.
Bethany lived in Thailand from 2016 to 2018, where she worked for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees conducting eligibility assessments for refugee status within the Thailand country office. She also spent 12 months managing the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s pro bono clearing house operations for the Asia Pacific Region.
Returning to Clothier Anderson Immigration Lawyers in September 2018, Bethany continues to work on complex matters including, but not limited to, protection and family visa applications, character matters, citizenship applications and permanent visa cancellations. She has considerable experience in primary applications and merits review.
